Privacy Policy

Deaton’s Aerial Photography
Version 1.2, Effective February 12, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Deaton’s Aerial Photography collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains personal information in connection with our drone photography and videography services. By submitting an inquiry, booking a service, or providing information to us, you agree to this Policy and the applicable Service Agreement. We do not sell personal information.

Information We Collect

  • Contact and Account Data – Name, company name, email address, phone number, and billing address collected when requesting a quote or booking services.
  • Project and Access Data – Site address, access instructions, and the Client’s representation of authority to permit drone operations. Written confirmation may be requested when required by a venue or if authorization is unclear.
  • Operational and Compliance Data – FAA authorization information, LAANC approvals or waivers, flight logs, metadata, and incident documentation created during safe and compliant operations.
  • Payment Data – Payments are processed through third party providers such as Square or PayPal. We do not store full credit or debit card numbers.
  • Media and Communications – Photos, video, and communications necessary to coordinate, deliver, and support services.

How We Use Information

  • Respond to inquiries and schedule services.
  • Assess airspace and obtain required FAA authorization.
  • Conduct drone operations safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Deliver edited media and provide project support.
  • Invoice and process payments.
  • Maintain required business, tax, insurance, and regulatory records.
  • Showcase portfolio work unless the client requests confidentiality in writing before final delivery.
  • Send occasional follow up communications related to past services, including thank you messages, project anniversaries, service reminders, or business updates. Clients may request not to receive such communications at any time.

Sharing of Information

  • With payment processors and secure storage providers as necessary to deliver services.
  • With subcontractors or collaborators engaged to assist in delivering services, limited to information reasonably necessary for the project.
  • When required by law, court order, FAA, ATC, or other regulatory authority.

Third party service providers operate under their own privacy policies and security practices. We are not responsible for the independent privacy or security practices of external platforms.

Subcontractors, Collaborators, and Referrals

We may engage trusted subcontractors, photographers, videographers, visual observers, or other collaborators to assist in delivering services. When engaged under our direction, such parties are authorized to use information solely for project related purposes.

If services are conducted jointly with another business, each party remains responsible for its own operations and privacy practices. If a client is referred to another provider, personal information will not be shared without the client’s knowledge or consent. Once engaged directly with another provider, that provider’s policies govern their services.

Data Retention

Business and financial records are typically retained for at least seven years as required by tax, insurance, or regulatory obligations. Media files are generally retained for twenty four months after delivery unless otherwise agreed. Clients are responsible for maintaining their own backups of delivered media.

Security Safeguards

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures appropriate for a small service based business to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we make good faith efforts consistent with the size and nature of our operations.

Children’s Information

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Any services involving minors are arranged through a parent or legal guardian.

Reviews and Testimonials

Publicly posted reviews, testimonials, or comments about our services may be quoted or displayed for promotional purposes, including website, social media, printed materials, outdoor advertising, or other marketing. We will not materially alter the substance of any review and may display the reviewer’s name as it appears on the original platform. If a reviewer requests removal, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request.

Portfolio Removal Requests

Clients may request removal of media from future promotional use. We will make reasonable efforts to discontinue use in new marketing materials. However, removal from materials already produced, distributed, or published cannot be guaranteed.

Your Rights

Clients may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal retention requirements. Clients may opt out of marketing communications or portfolio use before final delivery.
